Sixty years later, in 2011, it is an archetypal electric guitar with a long and storied history. The rich history of Fender guitars begins with the Telecaster, and Fender is celebrating its 60th anniversary all year with 12 very special "Tele-bration" models that stay inside the Telecaster's famously elegant lines while offering the finest and most unusual takes on the instrument's past, present and future.

Gibson Les Paul Traditional Light Burst
Price:
R.R.P. $3,999.00
Our special price: $2,999.00
Sold - please contact for availability. Lovely wide flames all over this one. Won't last long!
The Les Paul Traditional Electric Guitar got its name because Gibson gave it all the traditional features you expect from a Les Paul: mahogany body and set neck with rounded '50s profile, maple top, and a pair of Gibson's '57 Classic humbucker pickups. One significant, yet not-so-traditional improvement-the neck has been Plek'd on Gibson's Plek machine. The neck and frets are analyzed by a computer-controlled robot and then the frets are filed to an accuracy of a hundredth of a millimeter for optimal action and intonation without string buzzing. Includes deluxe Gibson USA hardcase.
*Please note this guitar retails for less than the sunburst-finish Les Paul Traditional - due to the flame maple featured on the sunburst finish.
Fender - 50th Anniversary Jaguar Lake Placid Blue
Price:
R.R.P. $2,799.00
Our special price: $2,599.00
Fender's 50th Anniversary Jaguar guitar takes you back to 1962, when they introduced an unusual new guitar that paired the sleek Jazzmaster® body style and elaborate control layout with a shorter scale and smaller, brighter pickups with more output. The resulting Jaguar was the fourth and last of Fender’s original lineup of standard electric guitars. Perfectly matched to the early-’60s renaissance in design modernism, the Jaguar gradually acquired a fascinating pedigree quite unlike that of any other Fender guitar. A chromed-out, surf-rock staple of the 1960s, it found new life from the mid-1970s-on as a subversively offbeat alternative axe wielded by punk, post-punk, grunge and alt-indie guitar heroes and anti-heroes alike. The U.S.-built 50th Anniversary Jaguar celebrates that vivid history and combines old and new into the finest of all Jaguar guitars. Highly distinctive features include the classic 24” scale length, a new one-degree neck-angle-pocket cut that improves pitch, a re-positioned tremolo plate that increases bridge break angle and sustain, and specially designed hot Jaguar single-coil neck and bridge pickups that deliver fatter tone and more output (once again framed by the model’s classic notched metal “claws”; a hum-reducing innovation only found on the Jaguar). Accessories include a deluxe brown case, strap, cable and a set of flatwound strings.

Our special price: $1,349.00
Sonic Blue also in stock! Fender introduces a Mustang inspired by a true grunge legend: Kurt Cobain.
When Kurt Cobain hit the stage, it was very often with a Mustang® guitar—an enigmatic anti-hero figure with an esoteric anti-hero instrument. It’s with great pride then that Fender introduces the Kurt Cobain Mustang, which evokes the man, the band, the sound and the times, and gives an authentically crafted nod to one of the most unlikely guitars to ever find itself at the center of a musical maelstrom.
See for yourself—go back and watch the famous 1991 video for “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” and there he is with it is slung over his shoulder. Or think back to when you saw them on the ’93-’94 In Utero tour, when he seldom went onstage with anything but a Mustang. Quite often and especially later on, Mustangs were a big influence on Kurt Cobain's distinctive sound.
Inspired by his arsenal of modded guitars, the new Fender Kurt Cobain Mustang boasts highly distinctive features including an angled single-coil Mustang neck pickup and ferocious Seymour Duncan® JB humbucking bridge pickup mounted directly to the body, dual on-off/phase in-out switches for each pickup, a polyester-finished alder body and an Adjusto-Matic™ bridge with dynamic vibrato tailpiece.
Other features include the classic 24” Mustang scale length, C-shaped maple neck with urethane finish, 7.25” radius rosewood fingerboard with 22 vintage-style frets and vintage-style ivory dot inlays, four-ply pickguard, master volume and tone controls, vintage-style tuners, and chrome hardware. Gibson - Les Paul Classic Custom - New model!
Price:
R.R.P. $3,499.00
Our special price: $2,999.00
The feel and tone of Les Paul Classic Custom is enhanced by the baked maple fingerboard, which adds the snappy response of ebony, but retains a warm, traditional medium-brown look like pau ferro. Luxurious and toneful, the nitro lacquer finish makes all the difference in the world, especially as the guitar ages. All for tons of pure Gibson tone.
The Les Paul Classic Custom starts with the legendary tonewood pairing of a solid carved maple top glued to a mahogany body, strategically chambered to enhance resonance and reduce weight. Maple's clarity and definition teams with mahogany's richness and depth to produce a tonal complexity that no single-wood guitar has ever matched. Its resonance and sustain are only further enhanced by the deep-set quarter-sawn mahogany neck with 17-degree back-angled headstock. Optimum playability is ensured by a slim, comfortable neck profile. The guitar's 22-fret fingerboard is made from Baked Maple, a heat-treated hardwood that offers a clear tone and extreme durability, and inlaid with acrylic block markers, enhanced by a mother of pearl Gibson headstock logo and acrylic split-diamond inlay.
The Les Paul Classic Custom is fitted with a pair of '57 Classic humbucking pickups made with genuine Alnico II magnets and and wound with enamel-coated 42-AWG wire just like the hallowed PAF pickups of the late 1950s and early '60s. The '57 Classics yield creamy warm tones in the neck position and plenty of growl and snarl in the bridge, with funky, round tones in between. The Tune-o-matic bridge/stopbar tailpiece ensures
