Gibson - Joan Jett Signature Melody Maker Cherry Red

Price: R.R.P. $899.00

Pre-owned in excellent condition, with hardcase. Owned by our regular luthier, and given the full late 50's Gibson Cherry Red finish. Super quality refinish! Guitar has had a full professional fret level and setup also. One of the best feeling guitars around!

Carefully developed in close cooperation with Jett herself, Gibson's Joan Jett Signature Melody Maker features a lightweight, slab mahogany body with a Worn White finish. The slim-tapered neck profile is handcrafted to the same specs as Jett's original guitar, with an ebony fingerboard and Gibson's classic, silk-screened gold logo on the headstock. The tuners are mini-Grovers with authentic witch hat knobs, exactly as they are on Jett's guitar. A kill switch replaces the normal Gibson toggle switch, and the body is outfitted with a period-correct black vinyl pickguard. The classic, snarling growl of Jett's original Melody Maker is accurately captured by a single Gibson Burstbucker 3 zebra humbucker, slightly overwound with asymmetrical coils, unpolished Alnico II magnets, and all the punch and power of an original Gibson "Patent Applied For" pickup. Add some typical Melody Maker appointments: 24-3 4-inch scale length, and standard Gibson Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece-and the result is a painstaking and heartfelt tribute to one of the most fearless, groundbreaking artists in rock and roll. Each Joan Jett Signature Melody Maker comes with a Gibson USA hard case. "I got my Melody Maker in 1977," the legendary Joan Jett says about the guitar she has made one of the most iconic instruments in rock and roll. "It was light and it sounded great. It was the guitar I had in The Runaways and then played on all my hits, like 'I Love Rock N' Roll' and 'Bad Reputation' and 'Do You Wanna Touch Me.' It's my baby." The Gibson Melody Maker Electric Guitar was introduced in 1959 and priced for the beginning player but has been used by many well-known rockers since then, including Joan Jett.

Sold! - 1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior TV Model

Price:

*Available upon request*

Introduced in 1954 The Les Paul Jr. was a student model version of Gibsons now famous solid body Les Paul Goldtop. The Junior offered a budget version of the Goldtop and the newly released ornate Les Paul Custom. The Junior utilized a very basic slab body design with one P-90 pickup, a simple wrap around stop tailpiece, Kluson strip tuners, dot fingerboard inlays and a standard sunburst finish. Due to the growing popularity of television Gibson developed an alternate finish option for the Les Paul Jr, a pale yellow that would show up as bright white on a TV screen, hence the finish we see here was dubbed TV Yellow. This vintage Gibson is all original, and plays superbly. Check out the killer crazed lacquer on the body!

Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt 50's "Stealth Esquire" by John English

Price: enquire within

Fender first dreamed up the "stealth" idea with the Fender Marauder of the mid-sixties, but it never made it past the catalog shoot. Fast forward to the modern age; as advances in technology made the B-2 bomber possible, similar advances in "stealth technology" pickup design have brought Leo Fender's Marauder vision to full fruition; bringing a wonderful mixture of Strat and Tele tones. The Masterbuilt 50s "Stealth Esquire" electric guitar from the Fender Custom Shop was designed by one of its most revered Master Builders – the late John English. This is a limited run of 100 worldwide!

This amazing electric guitar has an ash body finished in vintage blonde, a 1-piece quartersawn maple neck, and fretboard with black dot position markers. Other features on the 1950s Fender Masterbuilt guitar include Fender/Gotoh vintage style tuning machines and an original style Tele bridge with three brass saddles. In addition to the guitar's bridge pickup are two "stealth" custom, hand-wound single-coil pickups hiding under the 1-ply black pickguard. Controls include master volume and tone controls, and a 5-way selector switch.

Appointments on the Fender Custom Masterbuilt 50s "Stealth Esquire" include aged nickel/chrome hardware, an "ash tray" bridge cover, white switch cover, special "Custom Built John English Fender U.S.A." stamp on back of the headstock, and a neckplate engraved with "English" on it. The Custom Shop Heavy Relic finish treatment shows natural wear and tear of years of heavy use, nicks, scratches, worn finish, rusty hardware and aged plastic parts. The Fender guitar comes with a vintage case and a limited edition certificate.

Produced in Limited quantities, each Fender guitar in the Master Design Series is a personal vision of one of the Fender Custom Shop's Master Builders. It could be a classic recreation or variation, a souped-up hot rod or something totally off the wall. Each run of these Fender electric guitars feature a quantity Master Built by the Master Builder who designed it, and a run built by the Fender Custom Shop's Team Builders.

The Fender Masterbuilt 50s "Stealth Esquire" are among the most sought-after electric guitars on the market; indeed, many are considered "instantly collectible."
