One of 75 Worldwide! In the 1970s, Pete Townshend made the Les Paul Deluxe his weapon of choice for The Whos live shows. The Townshend Signature Deluxe recreates all the quirky aspects of Petes #9 Deluxe. In 1974, he began using the now infamous numbering system on the guitars. At first, just handwritten stickers, then Letraset block white stickers, done by his guitar tech, Alan Smith, to differentiate between guitars for different capo settings, an identification system he uses to this day. Townshend also used a custom straplock system invented by Alan Rogan, who began working with Pete in early 1975. With all the extra quirky features, this has to be one of the most tone-filled & versatile Les Paul Gibson has to offer.

Sandwich body - 3 Piece Mahogany/poplar & Maple w/figured Maple top.
3 Piece Maple neck with neck Volute.
DiMarzio Dual sound Humbucker pickup in middle position.
Dual Gibson mini-humbuckers, w/adjustable pole pieces & Alnico II magnets.
Controls: Three volume, one master tone, three-way selector switch. Two mini-toggles (one taps DiMarzio, other puts it out of phase)
