Incredibly rare '64 protoype model Electric XII 12-string electric in the Dakota Red finish!

The guitar is currently owned by a renouned Fender collector. The body was purchased as a '64 prototype body (Dakota Red, completely original crazed finish with white primer undercoat) from Fender employee and collector Steve Saul in the USA, and Steve was given the task of sourcing period-correct parts to suit the body. The body was then matched up through Fender with an original '66 matching-headstock Dakota Red neck, and matching '66 pickups and electronics.

The pickup routs (see pics) show how, unusually, the paint was applied prior to routing rather than the other way around (as it was still in the design stage). With the first production guitars popping up in 65-66 this '64 stamped body is exceptionally rare. We have detailed pictures of all the electronics upon request.
